Description of Work of the PERFFECT project

Work Packages :

The main objective of the WP1 is to determine the specifications of the subsystems as well as the architecture of the PERFEKT's overall platform. WP1 aims to analyze existing SoA tools related to PERFFECT and to analyze end-user requirements by developing appropriate questionnaires and conducting interviews, organizing a workshop, etc., as well as analyzing the pilot application. The operating scenarios, detailed technical specifications and the PERFFECT system architecture will be determined on the basis of the specific port operating regulations, taking into account national / European privacy / privacy laws.

In WP2 an energy and environmental inspection of critical processes and infrastructures of Port of Patras will take place. An energy audit will capture sources of energy consumption within the port and determine the current energy situation. Then, with the use of procedures and statistical optimization methods, critical and particularly energy-intensive port infrastructures will be traced. Finally, proposals for improvement will be made from an energy, environmental and economical point of view. Energy Efficiency Indicators as well as Energy Efficiency Goals will also be developed in order to achieve perpetual improvement of the Energy Management Platform and in general the energy efficiency of the port after the end of the project.

The WP3 is the main axis of development of the PERFEKT system. The subsystems include: (i) intermediate software for data analysis (open-source, extensible software to address interoperability issues of IoT devices, either at the communication protocol level or at the data structure level) (ii) the energy consumption model (use of the modeling language for the analysis of system functions and sequence of activities), iii) event-based simulation model (development of the linking between the processes with energy consumption and the peak energy demand during a specified run time (iv) the energy demand forecasting and resource allocation optimization system , development of algorithms (mechanical learning and nonlinear resource allocation optimization methods) to predict and manage energy loads with minimal operating costs, (v) the environmental impact analysis system. An automated decision maker will also be analyzed and implemented.

The completion of the system is a necessary action for the harmonious coexistence of the individual subsystems and their function as a whole. The system will be evaluated based on KPIs after completion. The WP4 includes activities to disseminate the results of the project in order to disseminate the results of the project. Finally, the objective of the WP4 is to exploit the results of the project, involving the direct or indirect exploitation of knowledge generated during the project.

Specific implementation scenarios and thorough assessment of the technologies, applications and cross-sectoral infrastructures described in the other WPs will be developed in the WP5. More specifically, a pilot implementation and assessment plan will be carried out, installation of the PERFFECT integrated system, assessment of the operation and evaluation report of pilot results .
